About Us
Championing the Broads — together
The Broads Society is a charity dedicated to protecting, celebrating and championing one of the UK’s most extraordinary landscapes.
We bring together people who care about the Broads — from local communities and visitors to volunteers, partners and supporters — helping to ensure this unique place continues to thrive and be enjoyed by all.

A Shared Purpose
The Broads is a landscape shaped by both nature and people — rich in wildlife, history and opportunity for exploration.
It is also a place that needs ongoing care, thoughtful management and a balanced approach to access.
Our role is to champion the Broads, support projects that make a difference and help more people experience and connect with this unique landscape in meaningful and responsible ways — ensuring the Broads remain accessible to as many people as possible.
What We Do
These three areas show the different ways we support, care for and celebrate the Broads.
How We Work
We are first and foremost a membership organisation, bringing people together to learn about the Broads, make their voices heard in discussions about the future, and creating opportunities to see and learn about the Broads’ amazing history, people, places and wildlife.
We collaborate with communities, organisations, volunteers, and businesses to support projects and create a meaningful impact.
Our approach is collaborative, practical and focused on protecting the landscape while improving opportunities for people to access and experience it for themselves.
Why It Matters
The Broads is resilient, but it is also vulnerable.
Pressures from environmental change and increased use mean this landscape cannot be taken for granted.
Our work helps ensure it remains:
a place where wildlife thrives
a landscape rich in heritage and character
a space people can access, enjoy and connect with.
Now and for generations to come.
