At The Broads Society, we believe in the power of conversation. For nearly 70 years, we've listened to the community and worked together to protect and preserve the unique beauty of the Broads. But now, more than ever, it's time to hear your voice. That's why we're thrilled to introduce Society Suppers – a new initiative designed to bring people together for a hearty meal, a thoughtful discussion, and a chance to shape the future of our region.
What Are Society Suppers?
Society Suppers are more than just a social gathering. They are an opportunity for everyone in the Broads community to come together, share ideas, and engage in meaningful debates about the issues that matter most.
Taking place at Bridgestone’s Café, one of Norfolk’s most welcoming spots, these suppers offer a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone can speak their mind without judgment.
For just £20.00, you'll enjoy a delicious meal, with a choice of cod, haddock, scampi, or five-bean chili and chips, and of course the chance to chat with liked minded Broads folk.
After supper, the real conversation begins with a short presentation on a pressing issue followed by an open, inclusive debate. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the Broads, your ideas and opinions are not only welcome—they are essential.
Why Your Voice Matters
As trustees, volunteers, and community members ourselves, we've spent countless hours talking to people across the Broads, at events, online, and in our day-to-day lives. One message has come through loud and clear: many people feel their voices aren’t being heard on the issues that affect our beloved Broads. The Broads Society has always been here to listen, represent, and advocate for the community, and in 2024, we're listening harder than ever.
Society Suppers offer a platform where your thoughts can become part of a larger dialogue. No, we can’t solve all of the Broads' challenges overnight, but we can work together to blend your concerns and ideas into our ongoing conversations with organizations like the Broads Authority and the Environment Agency. Every voice makes a difference, and we want yours to be part of this vital conversation.
